Welcome to Discover Podcasting

Podcasts captivate audiences through storytelling. The Podcast is one of the 21st Century’s greatest phenomenons and it is solely centred around the voice.

Our Discover Podcasting course enables you to tell your story, inspire debate or share revolutionary ideas, whilst progressively learning how to capture, edit and creatively treat audio to a professional standard.

Podcasting is no longer appealing to a niche market. It has become mainstream. It has become a valuable marketing tool for businesses of all sizes. With over half of all podcasts being listened to at home, podcast hosts are able to reach their target audience in a way that was previously reserved for radio and television.

This Discover Podcasting course enables you to tell your story, inspire debate or share revolutionary ideas, whilst progressively learning how to capture, edit and creatively treat audio to a professional standard. Successful graduates of this course can go on to study (Level 2) Explore Podcasting, Music Production, Creative Enterprise and more.

Learners on this course will create and publish their own podcasts. Areas of focus include:

  • Identifying the different basic sections of story structure
  • Compare and contrast types of stories, subjects and approaches to storytelling
  • Compose and/or arrange music to be included in the podcasts
  • Produce and publish at least 2 podcasts for the world to enjoy

The aim of this course is to provide a flexible, progressive mastery approach to the knowledge, skills and understanding required for podcasting productions. MLC courses motivate and encourage learners of all ages and levels through a system of progressive mastery, enabling you to develop and enhance skills, knowledge and understanding in a safe and consistent way. The courses are beneficial for those wishing to progress at their own pace through smaller steps of achievement.

This course requires you to work independently, undertake a small degree of research and assess your growth as a podcaster through portfolio-based evidence. It is delivered within our learner management system (LMS).

A wealth of information is presented in written form, audio and video and is presented in a careful step-by-step approach. MLC periodically hosts webinars and communications are sent to the student cohort covering resource updates and other helpful, relevant information.

If you wish to gain accreditation with RSL Awards, then please contact the MLC and a manageable deadline for submissions will be mutually agreed upon by you and an MLC mentor.

Though reasonable efforts are taken to ensure that your journey when undertaking this course is a pleasant one, success cannot be guaranteed. Support is available though it cannot necessarily be preempted. Continued communication between you and MLC/your mentor is a prerequisite in order that you stand the best possible chance of ensuring a successful outcome. If there is something that you do not understand or a point of issue that you require clarity on, contact MLC via the dashboard of musiclearningcollective.com. Full terms and conditions can be found on our website.
