MLC Leicester’s Battle of the Bands

MLC Leicester enhances its partnership with a new school by supporting their ‘Battle Of The Bands’.

Whether it’s via an MLC event, supporting a community event or a local school, we want students to perform on stage!

In May 2022,  MLC Leicester was approached by the Lionheart Education Trust asking if support could be given for a Battle of the Band’s event. We were delighted to support a community of aspiring musicians. MLC Leicester provided backline instruments in association with Marshall Amplification and musical experiences were offered as prizes. Students were given a period of free access to our blended learning platform, Music Learning Collective, as well as the opportunity to perform at the MLC showcase event at Metronome in Nottingham later this year.

Building meaningful and lasting relationships

Performance-based music education in action!

Learning to play a musical instrument requires dedication and a time commitment from the student. It also requires support from a wider community. This can include family/carers, friends, teachers and institutions alike. The MLC Method is designed to support the needs of individuals and groups of individuals by providing access to music education that is informed by industry. It is also designed to offer wider opportunities. These range from developing podcasts, producing music and attending arts events as an audience member. Furthermore, MLC students who have their lessons at The Cedars Academy, will benefit from the MLC School’s Partnership Fund.
