How we teach music at the MLC
At our music school, we use our unique MLC Method to deliver lessons. This approach centres around performance-based music education, combining private music lessons, our digital learning platform, and group rehearsals. Our goal is to take students on a journey through a structured process, ultimately preparing them to perform live in front of an audience. GUITAR LESSONS
MLC’s music lessons have a well-established history spanning decades. Our lessons for both children and adults are designed to help students quickly master their favourite contemporary and classic songs, with the ultimate aim of performing them live in front of an audience. Guitar students at the MLC can learn at their own pace, building enduring skills that will support their growth at every stage of their musical journey.
DRUM LESSONS
At the MLC, students jump straight behind the drums and learn the fundamentals by playing the songs they love. Our music lessons are supported by our industry-leading digital learning platform using interactive video content, along with synchronised music notation. Our performance-based programme combines private lessons and group rehearsals, ensuring students quickly become proficient players.
SINGING LESSONS
The MLC’s highly acclaimed courses for children and adults include private music lessons and group rehearsals, designed to help aspiring singers become performance-ready in no time at all. Every music lesson is led by an expert vocal teacher who guide students through essential vocal training, including warm-ups, microphone techniques, breathing exercises and technical exercises. Students will also learn the structure of classic songs and modern hits.
Piano or keyboard Lessons
Where the MLC differs from a traditional music lesson is that our Students enjoy both private lessons and group rehearsals. This enables students to play and perform songs as part of a band, giving them the confidence to play either solo or in a band setting.
BASS GUITAR LESSONS
Bass players are often the backbone of any band, holding everything together. Through a combination of private lessons and group rehearsals, bass students learn their favourite songs while progressing from the basics to full-band performances—a core aspect of MLC’s performance-based approach.
MUSIC PRODUCTION LESSONS
Music Production can be studied either on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting. Recording techniques, sound and audio theory, song arrangement and composition are all covered and our teachers will design a programme of study around your own interests. Students also have the opportunity to help run our Live Nights and record other MLC Students in the process.
ONLINE LESSONS
