MLC’s Director of Education, Simon Brown, was approached by Trinity College to share our recent experience of delivering their Arts Award as part of MLC’s Community Short Breaks provision to children with SEND.
In 2023, Nottingham City Council (NCC) were successful in securing funding for their Community Short Breaks provision through the Department for Education. NCC subsequently sought providers to deliver a range of reliable Short Breaks activities for children and young people with disabilities, complex health needs and behaviour that challenges. Short Breaks provide opportunities for children and young people to play and socialise, whilst giving their families and primary carers a break.

This new MLC initiative spanned six months, beginning in January 2024. It was delivered in collaboration with Community Catalysts, Impacd C.I.C, Source Distribution. and Ardour Healthcare Services.
