The Music Learning Collective signs the Armed Forces Covenant: A Commitment to Supporting the Armed Forces Community
At the Music Learning Collective (MLC), we are proud to announce our official commitment to the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing our dedication to supporting those who serve, have served, and their families. This pledge builds upon the long-standing relationship MLC has with the Armed Forces Community, as demonstrated by our ongoing support for both our team members and local military organisations.
Supporting Our Team Members
MLC already upholds the key principles of the Armed Forces Covenant by actively supporting CEO Paul Hose in his role within the Army Cadet Force (ACF). Paul’s commitment to mentoring and developing young people through the ACF is fully recognised and encouraged by MLC. Additionally, we celebrate the achievements of MLC teacher Anja England, who previously thrived in the cadet programme. Her experience as a cadet has significantly shaped her teaching career, and we recognise the value that military skills and discipline bring to our educational environment.

Our Contributions to the Armed Forces Community
Beyond supporting our staff, MLC has also contributed to local military initiatives. We recently donated a full set of drums to the Nottinghamshire ACF Corps of Drums, ensuring that young musicians within the cadet force have access to high-quality instruments. Furthermore, we have made a financial donation to help fund a parachute jump activity later this year, providing an exciting and challenging opportunity for cadets to develop their confidence and resilience.

Fulfilling Our Covenant Commitments
By signing the Armed Forces Covenant, MLC has formalised its commitment to the following initiatives:
- Promoting the Armed Forces: Ensuring MLC is an Armed Forces-friendly organisation and raising awareness among staff, customers, and partners.
- Veterans and Reserves Support: Recognising military skills and qualifications in our recruitment processes, working with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP), and providing additional leave for reservist training and deployments.
- Cadet Organisations: Encouraging staff participation as volunteer leaders in cadet organisations and supporting local military cadet units.
- National Events and Charitable Support: Actively participating in and supporting Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, the Poppy Appeal, and other remembrance activities, as well as fundraising for Armed Forces charities.
- Commercial and Educational Support: Offering fair access to our services for members of the Armed Forces Community, promoting education and training opportunities for service leavers, and ensuring the wellbeing of service children.
- Community Engagement: Strengthening ties with local Armed Forces units and charities, creating an Armed Forces Champion within MLC, and integrating Armed Forces-related content into our communications.
At the MLC, we firmly believe in recognising and supporting the contributions of our Armed Forces Community. By honouring these commitments, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who serve and have served.
