Laura Spencer Returns to the Stage in Come From Away
At the Music Learning Collective, we’re always proud to see members of our team sharing their talents both inside and outside the classroom. This September, our very own Laura Spencer is stepping back into the spotlight in a Zak Scott Production of Come From Away.
For those who don’t already know, Laura is not only a much-loved part of our teaching family here at MLC, but also a highly experienced performer. With a background in musical theatre and a career that has seen her work across a wide variety of productions, Laura brings the perfect blend of professional expertise and real-world insight into her lessons. Her journey from the stage to the classroom and back again is a testament to her passion for performance and her dedication to nurturing the next generation of creatives.
Come From Away tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 air passengers from around the world who found themselves stranded in Newfoundland in the wake of 9/11, and the extraordinary kindness of the local community who welcomed them in. This Olivier Award and Tony Award-winning musical is a moving celebration of hope, humanity, and unity, brought to life through powerful storytelling and uplifting music.
Laura and company will be bringing this smash hit show to The Duchess Theatre in Long Eaton from 25th to 27th September. Audiences can look forward to an unforgettable experience as spirited locals and global travellers come together on stage to share a story that continues to resonate across the world.
From all of us here at the MLC: Laura, we’re incredibly proud of you and wish you the very best. Break a leg!
